Wonderful Stay at The Senegambia Beach Hotel

Senegambia Hotel overview

I stayed at the Senegambia Beach Hotel in The Gambia with my sister for a week, and as returning guests it was lovely to be back. Check-in went very smoothly — you simply fill in a short form with your details, and the reception staff will get your room key ready. We were even welcomed with a glass of Wonjo, which was a lovely touch.

The staff are always warm, friendly, and happy to chat. Many of them recognised us from our previous visit and made a point of catching up, which instantly made us feel welcome.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. The gardens are perfectly maintained and create a calm, tropical atmosphere throughout the property. Breakfast is very good, with plenty of choice for everyone. I especially love the wonjo, a delicious Gambian drink made from hibiscus leaves.

There’s a lot to do around the hotel as well. There are two pools, direct beach access, a tennis court, a padel court, a new gym, and an area where you can play volleyball. Aqua gym sessions in the morning are a fun way to start the day, and on certain days you can also watch the vultures being fed — a unique and interesting experience.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with very cozy beds. Everything is kept extremely clean and the housekeeping team does a great job refreshing the room daily.

Overall, our experience was excellent. Senegambia Beach Hotel is the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself. I would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to returning again.
