Going Back (Day 7)
Today we go back home again.
We gathered our things and packed our suitcases. Headed out for breakfast one last time. Had to drink Wonjo because it will take some time before I’ll be able to drink it again. Ate some of the pof pofs (for dutch people Oliebollen) and enjoyed the last bits of sun rays.
We needed to bring back a few things home so we decided to walk out and get them. Bought two bottles of Wonjo and then we saw some meat pies. Kaddy wanted them a few days ago but we couldn't remember where we could get some so this was a great moment.
We also needed malaria pills for the future, when we would return so we continued to the pharmacy. The one closest to us didn't have the ones we wanted. We continued our search. I thought there was another pharmacy around the corner…nope. Ok, let’s go to the shopping mall maybe they have one there. I don't think so Kaddy said but ok let's go. Turns out they didn't. I got some Shea butter though to take back home lol.
Let’s continue a little bit further, I think they have some shops there so maybe there is a pharmacy. “No I don't think so” Kad said again. We went anyways. Turns out she was right again. “I’m done, I’m going back to the hotel it’s too hot.” Ok, Kad we can go back now.
I went in again and asked in the pharmacy if there is another one close where they have what we need. Few calls later…There’s one not far from here who has the pills you need. Thank you. I tell Kaddy and we go. Turns out it really wasn’t far and they also had what we needed so in the end it was a succes. Now we have everything we need and we head back to the hotel to take our suitcases and go the airport.
At the airport everything goes smoothly. We get to the gates and all we can do now is sit and wait. I want to go outside and do that in the sun (under the parasol). Kad wants to stay inside in the ac. We get our other favorite drink, formerly known as Youki cocktail (its a mixed fruit juice). I can’t believe that this whole week I didn’t get to drink it once. Because of that I’ve got to buy two of em. I enjoy my cold cocktail outside which is a beautiful way to end this week in the Gambia.
Time to go home, back to the cold.
